Hello, I’m Kevin Worthington. Thanks for checking out my site. I’m a husband, father, son, brother, professional software engineer, systems administrator, WordPress developer, applications specialist, Internet enthusiast, website builder, photographer, among other things. I’ve been posting to this site since 2006, which is quite a long time and makes me feel kind of old.
I enjoy using Mac OS X, Windows, Linux, and OpenBSD. Since each has its own strengths and weaknesses, I try to use the right tool for the right job.
I am also a huge fan of Gmail, and I have written a few articles discussing how to speed up Gmail and how to use its offline features:

I have ported Unix-like web servers to Windows – namely: Nginx and Lighttpd. I still provide Cygwin-based Nginx for Windows builds, since many people like and use them, even though Nginx is now provided in native format from the main project. As for Lighttpd, the WLMP Project now provides Windows builds of Lighttpd.
Speaking of Nginx, I also have a few tutorials on how to build it on Mac OS X. The latest guide is here:Nginx for Mac OS X El Capitan in 2 minutes.
There is not a strict focus to my site. However technology seems to be the main reoccurring topic. Current events and even politics show up here from time to time. Please feel free to explore the Archives to see what’s available.
My wife Trish and I live on Long Island, New York although we did live in Hawaii for a year and a half from late 2008 to early 2010.
