Weather sites

A friend of mine at work tipped me off to a great weather site called Intellicast. You can check your local weather or anywhere you’d like across the country, and there are up to date semi-real-time radar loops. Pretty cool stuff.
I used to always go to Weather.com, but since I’ve been using Intellicast, I haven’t seen the need to go back there.
One more ‘site’ worth mentioning is Google. They have their own weather feature on their site now as well. If you type “weather [zip code]” or “weather New York, NY” for example into the search box, a brief forecast is displayed before search results. Also pretty cool. Google has more and more cool things added to their site, and it seems often that new features are introduced. One last thing while I’m talking about Google. If you need a definition for a word, and you’re too lazy to go to Dictionary.com, you can type “define:[word]” into Google’s search box, and definitions for that particular word are displayed just like search results. Fun stuff. Enjoy.

Do you ever blog about your personal life? ;)

Google rocks so hard. Another really cool feature: type something like this into it:
    10 miles in kilometers

Britt: sometimes I do. I guess not so often, but see other posts like ‘WD-39’s site update’, ‘Hectic Week’, and ‘Lack of Posts’.
Anthony: Yes that’s one I like in Google, it’s also like typing in ’22 degrees F in C’. Also it works like a calculator: just type in “1000*92” for example. Google is the only search engine I use nowadays, and it’s been that way for a few years. I like it mainly because it’s uncluttered, fast, and is light on graphics.

    Hehehe….
“Do you ever post about personal stuff?”
    “Yes; see ‘lack of posts.'”

Amen, amen, and amen about Google. I also haven’t used anything else for a couple years now, and I love it ’cause it’s almost pure text and it’s so fast. I also use the “Cached” link all the time — probably more than 50% of the time — because the highlighting is so helpful.

After re-reading the comments for this post, I realize that nobody can say enough positive things about Google. (:
